Barbecue havarti burgers recipe

This is the perfect burger dish for you to make whenever you want to impress your friends and family during your next barbecue. Made with homemade sweet potato fries, this is a burger that is impossible to resist.

Ingredients

For the Burgers
  • 1 pound of lean ground beef
  • ½ teaspoons of salt
  • ½ teaspoons of black pepper
  • 3 Tablespoons of barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 8 ounces of Havarti cheese, thinly sliced
  • 4 to 6 brioche buns
  • Spring greens, for serving
     
For the Sweet Potato Fries
  • 3 sweet potatoes, spiralized
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 teaspoon of light brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoons of smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoons of powdered garlic
  • ½ teaspoons of salt
  • ¼ teaspoons of powdered onion
  • ¼ teaspoons of black pepper
How to Make It
  1. Prepare the burgers. In a bowl, add in the ground beef. Season with a dash of salt and black pepper. Add in the barbecue sauce. Stir gently to incorporate. Shape into 4 to 6 patties.
  2. In a skillet set over medium heat, add in the olive oil and butter. Once melted, add in the patties. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  3. Top off the patties with the sliced Havarti cheese. Cook for an additional minute or until melted. Remove and set onto the brioche buns. Set aside.
  4. Prepare the sweet potato fries. In a bowl, add in the spiralized sweet potatoes. Cover with water and set aside to soak for 45 minutes. Drain and squeeze out the excess moisture. Pat dry with a few paper towels.
  5. In a stock pot set over low to medium heat, add in 2 to 3 inches of vegetable oil. Heat the oil until it reaches a temperature of 350 degrees. Place a few paper towels onto baking sheet.
  6. In a bowl, add in the white sugar, smoked paprika, powdered garlic, powdered onion, dash of salt and onion. Stir well to mix.
  7. Add the spiralized sweet potatoes into the oil. Fry for 2 to 3 minutes or until slightly crispy. Transfer onto the baking sheets and repeat. Transfer into the seasoning mix and toss to coat. Place back onto the baking sheets.
  8. Top off the burgers with the spring greens.
  9. Serve immediately with the sweet potato fries.
