Candied yams recipe

1 Tbsp. water makes just the right amount of moisture to deliciously glaze these yams.

Ingredients

  • 6 lb sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into ¼-inch slices
  • 3 cups sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 3 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 2 Tbsp ground cinnamon
How to Make It
  1. Place 1 Tbsp. water and all ingredients in a 6-qt. Dutch oven.
  2. Bring to a boil over high heat; cover, reduce heat, and simmer 25 minutes or until potatoes are tender and glazed, stirring occasionally.
