Ingredients

  • 12 uncooked lasagna sheets
  • ½ pound ground turkey or beef
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups of crushed tomatoes /tomato puree
  • 2 tablespoons dried Italian seasonings or mixed herbs
  • Pinch of salt
  • Dash of ground black pepper
  • 1 package (15 ounces) Ricotta Cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 flat leaf parsley
  • 1 cup grated Mozzarella Cheese, divided
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
How to Make It
  1. In a deep large skillet, heat the olive oil and saute the onion and garlic until the flavor comes out.
  2. Saute the ground meat and continue stirring to break up.
  3. Sprinkle pinch of salt and a dash of pepper.
  4. Add the mixed herbs or Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes, if you want something hot and spicy.
  5. Cook and brown the meat. Remove excess oil in the skillet.
  6. In a food processor, blend the meat sauce for one minute to break the meat into fine grains.
