Penne with tuscan meat sauce recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces penne
  • Chopped aromatic vegetables (onion, carrot and celery)
  • 10 ounces ground beef
  • 2 cups peeled chopped tomatoes
  • Olive oil
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • Grated parmigiano
How to Make It
  1. In a skillet, warm 6 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the aromatic vegetables and cook until soft.
  2. Add the beef and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring often, then add the tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Cover and cook, stirring occasionally, for about 40 minutes.
  3. Cook the penne in boiling salted water until al dente. Drain, and add to the skillet. Sprinkle with parmigiano and toss. Serve hot, sprinkled with parmigiano.
