  • Total Time: 45 Minutes

Ingredients

For the Fries
  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 3½ tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher or fine sea salt, plus more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper, plus more to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 4 russet potatoes, unpeeled, scrubbed and dried
For the Fry Sauce
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • ½ teaspoon distilled white vinegar
  • ⅛ teaspoon garlic salt
How to Make It
    Make the Fries
  1. Preheat the oven to 450°F. Coat a large baking sheet with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Place the oil, kosher salt, pepper, and garlic salt in a large zip-top bag. Shake until the ingredients are mixed together.
  3. Quarter the potatoes lengthwise and then cut the wedges into ¼-inch-thick French fries. Place the potatoes in the bag and shake until they are well covered with the oil and seasonings. Spread the potatoes in a single layer over the prepared pan. Bake for 20 minutes, then toss the fries with a spatula. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes more, or until golden and crisp.
  4. Make the Fry Sauce
  5. While the potatoes bake, in a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, vinegar, and garlic salt. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  6. Remove the fries from the oven and season with more salt and pepper, if desired. Enjoy them while they’re hot, dipped in the fry sauce!
