Saying “pea soup”, we mean a soup made from dried peas. This hearty, fragrant and delicious soup is particularly relevant in cold weather. In its preparation is not difficult, moreover, it does not take much time.

Ingredients

  • 500 g dried peas
  • 500 g smoked pork ribs
  • 100 g bacon
  • 1 pc onion
  • 1 pc carrot
  • 5-6 PCs potatoes
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 3-4 tbsp mustard
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch dill and parsley
  • salt, freshly ground black pepper
How to Make It
  1. Peas wash, pour a small amount of water and leave to stand for 3-4 hours Smoked pork ribs chopped into pieces of 2-3 ribs, put in a saucepan and cook 1-1,5 hours until the meat easily falls off the bone.
  2. Onions, carrots and peel the potatoes. Onions and carrots cut into very small cubes, potatoes – larger ones.
  3. Ready strain the broth, return to saucepan. Remove the meat from the bones and place them in a bowl. Add the broth, peas and cook for 30 min. Then add potatoes and cook on medium heat for another 20 min.
  4. At this time, in skillet, heat vegetable oil and fry the onions and carrots until Golden brown. Add to a pot of soup. Cook for 10 min.
  5. 3-5 min before the end of cooking, add the mustard, pending meat, salt and pepper.
  6. Wash the herbs and chop. Garlic peel and finely chop. Bacon cut into thin strips. Garlic, bacon and herbs to add to soup, and heat for 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand 30 min.
