Double chocolate chip cookies recipe

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ cup milk chocolate chips
  • ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
How to Make It
  1. Beat the butter and sugars with an electric mixer until fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla. Sift together the flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Mix to combine. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  2. Form the dough into 1½-inch balls and place 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake at 350°F until the centers are set, about 12 minutes. Cool slightly on the baking sheets, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
