  • Yield: 4 Servings

Ingredients

Patties
  • ½ Vidalia onion, grated
  • 2 Tbsp breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1½ lb ground sirloin
Burgers
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • Homemade BBQ Sauce
  • Cabbage-Celeriac Coleslaw
  • 4 slices aged cheddar cheese
How to Make It
  1. For the patties, in a large bowl, combine grated onion, breadcrumbs, worcestershire sauce, black pepper, salt, garlic powder, and ground sirloin. Use your hands to combine well. Form into 4 patties and place on a baking sheet.
  2. To finish the burgers, brush both sides of hamburger buns with olive oil. Spray grill rack with non-stick spray and preheat barbecue to medium-high heat. Grill burgers until lightly charred and cooked to desired doneness, about 6 to 8 minutes per side for medium-well. Grill buns, cut side down, about 2 minutes, or until golden. To assemble burger, spread BBQ sauce on both sides of bun. Top with hamburger patty, coleslaw, and cheddar cheese. Serve with poutine.
