Blue Cheese Crostini

Cooking with One Chef One CriticThis is a quick and easy horsd oeuvre recipe given to me many years ago by a fan. The cheesy treats are a big hit at potluck parties.

  • Yield: 40 pieces

Ingredients

  • 1 French baguette, cut into ½-inch (10 mm) slices
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) loose pitted dates, chopped
  • ¾ cup (180 ml) pecan or walnut pieces
  • ½ cup (125 ml) blue cheese, crumbled honey
How to Make It
  1. Place baguette slices on a cookie sheet and lightly toast under broiler. Be sure to toast both sides.
  2. Once the toasts have cooled, top each with pieces of dates, nuts, and cheese. Place under broiler just long enough for cheese to melt. Drizzle each toast with a little honey.
